Scottish Indie Pop Rockers Astrid are back with a brand new album after a 14 year hiatus. Astrid released nine singles, three albums and three EPs before disbanding in 2004.
Songwriters Willie Campbell & Charlie Clark were also core members of Scottish Indie supergroup 'The Reindeer Section' which featured members of Snow Patrol, TheVaselines, Teenage Fanclub, Arab Strap and Mogwai.
Produced by Scottish Indie legend Edwyn Collins, Astrid's debut album, ‘Strange Weather Lately’ was a critical and moderately commercial success and would go on to solidify Astrid as 1999's darlings of radio as they garnered support from the likes of John Peel, Steve Lamaq and Mark and Lard. The aforementioned setting in motion tours and shows with Belle & Sebastian, The Go-Betweens, Ben Lee, Sean Lennon, Lou Barlow and The Pernice Brothers.
Skip forward 20 years and Astrid are teaming up with Edwyn Collins again torelease 'Fall, Stand, Dance' on Collins' AED Records label April 12th 2019. The album was recorded in Los Angeles, California where Clark now resides and was produced by Eric McCann and mixed by long time Astrid collaborator Tony Doogan.
The first single, 'Poison Reaction', taken from 'Fall, Stand, Dance' will be released Feb 22nd 2019. The band will be announcing tour dates later this year.
